Tomfoolery Opens Tonight

Last night was our final dress rehearsal. We didn’t make any of our old mistakes—instead we made all new mistakes. I guess that’s progress. Anyway, the four people in our preview audience proved to be a somewhat anemic crowd, but opening night promises to be different. Hank tells us that we’re sold out tonight and tomorrow night and they have never sold out an opening night performance before. So I hope the audience likes it. Two hours until I leave for the theater. Time enough to…. I dunno. Finish this blog entry and do some surfing, personal grooming, and a bit of nutritional sustenance before curtain.

Fueling Change at Malibu Film Festival

Oh, by the way, my grad school doc Fueling Change is an official selection at the 8th Malibu International Film Festival. If you’ve been paying attention to my schedule or blog then you know that I won’t be able attend this one. ☹️ But I’ll try to get a producer or a crew member to attend. I’m happy that more people will get to see the doc. It’s showing in Santa Monica on Sunday, April 15th at 11 am (check their website for more information). “Hmm… now should I do my taxes or go to a film festival” the Los Angelinos think….

Tomfoolery Nears Departure to HHI

Today is our last day in Clemson. Well we rehearse in Pendleton actually. Tomorrow am we head to Hilton Head Island. Tonight we do a complete run-through of the show for a guest audience of four. Perhaps I should call it a smash through of the show. 🙂 We open next Thursday night. The first act is 45 minues and the second act is 40 minutes. I wish we had a band and an extra cast member but we’ll have to make do with me plus three plus Mr. Yamaha’s 88.

Report from Clemson

We’ve been working on Tomfoolery for about a week now and we have about a week of rehearsals left. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that this show will come together at all. The people can do it, it’s just a lot of songs to learn at one time. I’m a bit tired and I wish I had more than a single day off (on Monday). I have several other things I’d like to be doing, but I’m here for a job and I have precious little free time which I must reserve for down time to recharge for the next day’s rehearsals.

BOLO—Crime Alert Bulletin—Stolen Hearts – 26

I like posting random personals ads that I come up with so they don’t get lost into internet oblivion. I had an inspiration the other day and I just had to write this one. Not a great response, but I didn’t expect any. I just posted my creativity in the appropriate forum. 🙂 —- BULLETIN—BE ON THE LOOKOUT:—- Suspect: Male cauc., 5’10”, 175lbs. Brn hair/blu eyes, intelligent, likes theater/music, can be found playing piano or working on computers editing video. Why Doesn’t Online Dating Work for Me?

Why is online dating so difficult? Is it because of the cover of anonymity that people become more inconsiderate and picky? With so many seemingly great men to choose from, women can simply delete or ignore someone who doesn’t fit her perfect ideal. At least in the offline world she would be held accountable for at least saying “no, thanks.” (same goes for men, too) Or am I confusing the issues and is it simply a matter of logistics—that women can’t even reply to all the emails they receive from these sites?

Osophy on Loss

Sometimes it’s possible to make no mistakes and still lose.
